WHEN TO USE THE GIZMO 

GIZMO CONTROLS

MOVEMENT GIZMO  is the function that you will use the most giving easy movement around the layout.  SCALE GIZMO  is excellent when the dimensions needed for a particular object, are not yet known to fit a particular space in your layout. ROTATE GIZMO  is beneficial when adjusting an object's position within the layout freehand.

 

WHERE TO LOCATE THE GIZMO OPTIONS

STEP BY STEP 

1️⃣  Place an object within the layout, when a placed object is selected the Gizmo will appear on top of the Object

2️⃣  Select the different Gizmo options in the TOP BAR to use either Rotate, Move or Scale

3️⃣  Grab the coloured Gizmo arrows and pull in the desired direction

MOVEMENT GIZMO 

Good for 

• Moving objects easily 
• Freehand movement 
• Move left to right, backwards and forwards, up and down

Not good for 

• When you prefer to use the software keys to move your objects 

Pro Tip 💡 if you prefer software keys we recommend using the Object Control Pad to move your object

 

STEP BY STEP 

1️⃣  Place an object within the layout, when a placed object is selected the MOVE GIZMO will appear as the default option

2️⃣  Grab the coloured Gizmo arrows and pull in the desired direction 

 

Pro Tip 💡 Combine the Movement   Gizmo with Snap to Grid and 2D view   for accurate placement

GRAB AND DRAG 

Good for 

• Not limited to left and right, backwards and forwards, up and down movements 
  
• Freehand movement in all directions. 

STEP BY STEP

1️⃣  Select a placed object so that the MOVE GIZMO appears

2️⃣  Hover over the central point of the GIZMO

3️⃣  Grab the hand that appears and move the object in any direction

 

Pro Tip 💡 Combine with snap to grid to control the height level that you want to place your object

ROTATE GIZMO 

Good for

• freehand rotation

Not good for 

• Accurate specific rotation

Pro Tip 💡 For a more pinpointed and accurate rotation, we recommend using the Object Control Pad or Transform Input boxes

 

STEP BY STEP

1️⃣  Select a placed object so that the Gizmo appears

2️⃣  Select the ROTATE Gizmo option within the TOP BAR 

3️⃣  Click the coloured axis to select the direction and use sweeping motions across your screen with your mouse or trackpad. 

 

Pro Tip 💡 Use sweeping motions across your entire screen, you do not have to limit moving your mouse only on top of the Gizmo

WATCH 👁  THE ROTATION GIZMO 

 

SCALE GIZMO 

Good for 

• Scaling when the needed dimensions of an object are not yet known to fit a certain area in the layout
• Freehand scaling 

Not good for 

• Scaling to specific known dimensions 

STEP BY STEP 

1️⃣  Select a placed object so that the Gizmo appears

2️⃣  Select the SCALE Gizmo option within the TOP BAR 

3️⃣  Click the coloured direction boxes  appropriate to the axis that you would like to scale 

Pro Tip 💡    For more accurate and pinpointed scaling we recommend   using the Object Control Pad or Transform Input boxes
