When viewing your layout, it is best to do so in 3D mode however, when wanting to place an object with precision, we recommend using 2D mode.
This will provide you with hard edges and when used in conjunction with the Toggle Grid, allows specific placing using a guide.
After loading, your software will automatically default to 3D mode. To toggle between the two different modes, use the key in the middle of the View Pad.
In the image below, we are viewing in 3D. Hit the key to toggle to 2D
Once 2D has been selected, your template will automatically default to a top view of the template in a horizontal position. You can use the View Pad and T to position vertically.
If wanting to view in a side or back view while in 2D mode, select L, R or B on the View Pad.
Once your template is in position, select TOGGLE GRID from the Top Bar, this will provide you with straight edges to help align your object.
Place your chosen object within the layout and using the Gizmo options, align according to the grid.
Once aligned, pull into place using the Gizmo,
Check out your placement by switching back to 3D mode.
