WHEN AND HOW TO USE WORLD SPACE
- Accurately align objects placed in your layout with another
- Great for aligning different types of objects when simple duplicating would not be beneficial
Pro Tip 💡 It is important to note that entering the dimensions 0,0,0 will not relate to a centre point within your template. This will vary in all templates as there are many adjustments that we allow to be made which would affect this. |
TAKE A LOOK 👁 AT WORLD SPACE
STEP BY STEP
In the example below we will use a variation of cabinets.
1️⃣ Place the first cabinet in the position needed, this will be your base point. Highlight and note the figures now showing in Location/World Space in the Sidebar.
2️⃣ These figures provide the World Space of this object, you will use the coordinates to place further objects in line with this one.
You will not use all 3 coordinates as this would place any further objects in the exact same position. Your Gizmo will guide which two to use based on your viewing position and you will only use the coordinates for Height and Depth.
3️⃣ In this viewing example, the Gizmo is telling us that Green (Y) is Height, Red (X) is Depth and Blue (Z) is Length.
Pro Tip 💡 If you were viewing from another angle, note again which colour represents each as it will change. |
4️⃣ Take note of the X -4.85 and Y 9.73 coordinates
5️⃣ Place the other cabinets that you would like to use into the template
6️⃣ Highlight the next object and Input the noted coordinates X -4.85 and Y 9.73 This will position the object correctly, you can now drag the Move Gizmo on the remaining axis to your position closer to the original object.
7️⃣ Repeat for any further objects.
8️⃣ Switching to Top View shows all objects now accurately in place
