If you run any of the below security features, they will have done their job during the download process.
✅ Anti Virus
✅ Firewall
✅ Network-Wide AdBlocker (such as Pi-hole)
❌ VPN's are not recommended
As the user sets all levels of security, it may be that an exception to allow your vanspace3D software to run within your settings is needed. ❗ IT IS ESSENTIAL TO FOLLOW ALL STEPS BELOW
✅ Step 1. ARE YOU THE ADMINISTRATOR? |
✅ To run our V3 software, you will need to ensure that you are running as an administrator.
✅ Make sure that you are launching your software from your Applications folder and not your Downloads folder
✅ STEP 2 - SET PERMISSIONS |
1. During the Download process, you will have moved the vanspace App to your Applications folder, locate vanspace and click once to highlight
If you did not move to Applications and it is still in your Downloads folder, please ensure to move now.
2. Once the vanspace App is highlighted, click Command and the letter I (⌘+I ). The Information box about the application will then appear.
3. Click the arrow Next to Sharing and Permissions to expand the section
4. Click the pop-up menu next to your username to see the permissions settings.
If you’re not logged in as an administrator, you may need to click the lock to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password (or use Touch ID or your Apple Watch).
5. Change the permissions to Read & Write
If you can’t change the permissions, contact an administrator of your MAC.
✅ STEP 3 - EXCEPTION TO APPLE FIREWALL |
If your Firewall is running, you will need to ensure that an exception to allow vanspace3D to run is made.
Apple > System Preferences > Firewall
A. Ensure that your settings appear as in the below image so that you allow downloaded software signed by a valid certificate authority, to receive incoming connections.
B. Add vanspace3D to your exclusions list by selecting the plus sign and then the vanspace App.
If the option to add is greyed out, click on the lock at the bottom
✅ STEP 4 - PRIVACY |
As your software will pull information from your system regarding resolution settings and also save your layouts locally, you need to ensure that you grant permission.
Apple > System Preferences > Privacy
Add vanspace3D to your exclusions list by selecting the plus sign and then the vanspace App.
If the option to add is greyed out, click on the lock at the bottom
✅ STEP 5 -OTHER ANTIVIRUS AND FIREWALL |
✅ 1. If also running non-Apple provided Anti Virus/Firewall on your Mac, you will need to ensure that an exclusion is made to vanspace3D and Unity folders.
✅ 2. Create an Advanced Rule to allow the following URL's
unity3d.com
vanspace3d.hopto.org
If you are unable to locate the steps for your particular security, How to contact vanspace3D
✅ STEP 6 - VPN |
Some VPN's also provide a filter on a network level rather than a system level, which will block the network traffic.
Using a VPN may produce connection issues, a greyed out software screen or unresponsive features once the software is loaded.
If you are using a VPN whilst running vanspace software, we recommend disabling it.
✅ STEP 7 - NETWORK-WIDE ADBLOCKERS |
Adblockers such as PiHole that block at the Network level rather than system level may produce connection issues, a greyed out software screen or unresponsive features once the software is loaded.
We recommend creating an exclusion to vanspace and unity within the settings at the very least, although ✅ disabling will be more beneficial to troubleshoot.
✅ 1. Create an Advanced Rule to allow the following URL's within the Adblocker
unity3d.com
vanspace3d.hopto.org
