CREATING CARAVAN AND TRAILER TEMPLATES 

We are not caravanspace, or trailerspace 😀️ however,  it is more than likely you can use our custom template generator to create great templates outside of the usual vans and buses BUT........

.......you must take into account that a) you will need to be more creative than most, AND b) your focus will be on the internal layout rather than the cosmetic exterior appearance. 

You will always follow 3 basic stages.

1. Creating the basic template in the custom template generator
2. Taking your basic template to the design area 
3. Creating any additional structures in the design area

CREATING THE BASIC TEMPLATE

Using a caravan as an example, the basic dimensions initially required are the living area's main square or rectangle shape. Noses can be added later if needed. 

TIPs for creating non standard templates. 

1. Traditional vans have slopes on the sides of the roof, and caravans on the front and back. Enter the length in the width field and vice versa in the custom template generator, to create those slopes in the correct place. Creating a Custom Template
2. If you don´t have any slopes and curves to think about, enter your dimensions in the correct fields.
3. Don´t select a front cab! You are not going to need one. 

TAKING TO THE DESIGN AREA

This one is easy; just select USE VAN in the custom template generator to open the template in the design area. 

CREATING ADDITIONAL STRUCTURES

Now it is time to get creative! 

ADDING NOSES & BACK ENDS

Once you have taken your basic template to the design area, you can begin to construct any additional structures, such as the nose, out of 3D shapes. Create your own Furniture and Fittings with 3D shapes.

You are also going to need to scale and rotate each element of the structure Overview of object movement, scaling and rotating functions

INTERNAL WALLS & WINDOWS 

The internal walls of the template will get in the way if you have added additional external structures that are important to the internal layout, so transparent textures can be painted to the internal walls and allow you to continue with your design. 

Toggle between transparent and solid materials as you place your furniture and fittings in the design.

WHEELS AND WHEEL WELLS 

While concentrating on the internal layout, exterior wheels are unnecessary. Apply the internal wheel wells only following. Adjusting the Interior Wheel Wells

Once you have completed all of the above, you are now ready to start designing your internal layout!
