Macs aren't perfect, and this is a good example of a completely random OS bug that can occur when downloading any software.
This bug was mostly seen in Catalina but we are noticing it again in Monterey recently. It simply means that the application launcher has downloaded as a text file rather than an executable file, hence unable to open.
You can attempt to download again just in case of an interruption in the download process; however, you will more likely need to force the text file to become executable manually.
Thankfully it is really easy to fix.

STEP BY STEP
1) Move the vanspace 3D App to the Applications folder.
2) Right-click on the application and click Show Package Contents.
3) Open the Mac OS Folder.
4) Take note of the text file named vanspace 3D.txt, this is the one that should be executable.
5) Open Terminal via Utilities. Applications> Utilities> Terminal
6) Copy and paste the following into Terminal; you must leave a space after the x and do not press enter
chmod +x
7) Drag and drop the text file from step 4 (vanspace 3D.txt) into the terminal window.
8) Press enter in the terminal window.
9) The File will then change to an executable file.
10) Double click this file which is now an executable file (.exe) tutorial.
11) You will receive an incorrect error that the application is from an unrecognised developer as you have made a change to the status of a file
12) Go to Apple > System Preferences > Security and Privacy > General
13) Allow the application vanspace 3D to run; you may need to click the lock and enter your password to make the change.
