Once you have downloaded your software and are attempting to unzip it, you may encounter this error message from Archive Utility. It seems there are a few reasons that this archiver produces this.
There are a few different reasons this can occur with this feature; please follow the steps below.
STEP ONE - CHECK YOUR DOWNLOAD SPEED |
As this error can be caused by a download becoming corrupted in transit, check your download speed at https://www.speedtest.net/ and click GO.
Review the results as generally; you would want to see download speeds of at least 15, preferably much higher as this is a 1.5GB download. Average download speeds are in the 30s.
If there is a low download speed, the issue is more than likely your connection and the length of time the download takes. If you would like us to review the details of this speed test, please paste the results URL in your reply.
If you are happy with your download speed, continue to step two.
STEP TWO - USE FIREFOX PRIVATE BROWSING |
We recommend Chrome or Firefox only when downloading (Never Safari); however, various settings within the standard window browser can create Server and Network errors that can cause this issue.
Rather than attempt to locate which settings, load your dashboard in Firefox using Private Browsing.
To open a Private Browser Window in Firefox, click on the Firefox Menu in the upper-right-hand corner of the browser and select New Private Window. You can also use the shortcut Shift + ⌘ + P (on macOS) or Shift + CTRL + P (on Windows).
This can be a simple but effective fix just for the download process.
If the issue continues, you have eliminated a corrupted download being the cause.
STEP THREE - CHECK SHARING AND PERMISSIONS |
Check that the correct permissions are given to the Zip File within your Downloads folder.
A. Locate the vanspace3D zip file and click Command with the letter I (⌘+I ). The Information box about the application will then appear.
B. Click the arrow Next to Sharing and Permissions to expand the section
C. Click the pop-up menu next to your username to see the permissions settings.
If you’re not logged in as an administrator, you may need to click the lock to unlock the permission, then enter an administrator name and password.
D. Change the permissions to Read & Write - If you can’t change the permissions, contact an administrator of your MAC.
STEP FOUR - USE A DIFFERENT ARCHIVER TO UNZIP |
If you are unable to resolve the Archive Utility issue with any of the above steps, we recommend using the free Mac Unarchiver at https://theunarchiver.com/
